Book on line your holiday in mountain to La Grave. No wooden chalet are in this resort and the lack of wood and some spectacular fires over the past have dissuaded people from it so the region of Meije, Alps is mainly built with rocks, blocks of tuffs or schist which are connected by a mortar on the ground. Also the roofs are covered with slates or lauzes, in case of fire, and comprises of two sides. The houses built on rocks are spread over different levels and face the mountain. Many old alleys, the 'trabuc' form a narrow network between the lodgings and can sometime confuse visiting holiday makers.
